My friend Steve Withers lost his daughter Charlie to Leigh’s Syndrome which is a life limiting neurological degenerative disease which in Charlie’s case robbed her of skills such as speech, swallow and even the ability to sit unaided. He is running the London Marathon in memory of Charlie and raising money for the Lily Foundation who supported his family and are working towards finding a cure for all Mitochondrial Diseases (including Leigh’s).
