Start your engines Badgers… it’s almost time when F1 fans go crazy for the British GP and what better way to celebrate than with our F1 inspired Alpha Tauri branded 1978 Lambretta Grand Prix 200!
Magazine featured in Scootering.com, it doesn’t get much better, really where do we start with this scooter in terms of the detail!, in fact, I passed it the other day and noticed yet another cool touch I’d missed! So let’s explain a little more about it especially for those that don’t care so much for F1 or probably, like me, gave up when Mansell threw his gloves into the crowd at Silverstone.. Ok now I feel old as I was there, but anyway here goes!
Firstly, Alpha Tauri is a high-end Italian clothing brand.. and the Alpha Tauri is the brightest star in the constellation of Taurus the Bull according to Brian Cox .. hence the logo and little bull logos on the fuel taps, either way, it’s the cool new name of the old Torro Rosso F1 team!
Ok let’s talk scoots now.. and like F1, it’s all about the power plant, well, in this case, it’s not that big but the chosen head was an Imola 186 small block kit, now I’ve said it before but I find this a great option for any Lammy, and coupled with the upgraded carb, all credit to the original builder as it delivers decent power and reliability, and in the scooter world that’s pretty high up the list.
Next up, the MODS! BGM front and rear shocks, Pro Street Levers, SIP Speedo, long-range tank, custom light grill and rear rack are just superb with the bull logo and F1 logo on the front grill. No chrome to be seen on this scoot and that Snetterton style seat has a neat party trick as it hinges in the middle for the fuel cap.. nice touch!
Now check out that moulded style toolbox on the leg shield and the seriously cool choke and fuel taps that took me 3 days to notice.. but it’s these super cool details that make this scooter, not just a one-off but a great talking piece and a worthy prize for one rather lucky Badger as this can’t be bought, only won with Aspire Comps!
We could go on all day about the powder-coated engine cases and the SIP rims but seriously, you don’t need to read any further, it’s time to get on an early badger or wait till the last lap if that’s your style. Either way, to finish the race you first need to start so get a ticket and be in with a chance of winning this absolutely awesome F1 styled Lambretta!
